Summer Palace

Tipu Sultan's summer palace in Srirangapatnam near Mysore. It's drab-looking from outside, but the paintings on the walls inside, depicting the battles and victories of Tipu and his father Hyder Ali, are simply outstanding. After Tipu was killed in 1799 in a battle with the British, this palace was occupied by Col. Arther Wellesley, who would later be known as the Duke of Wellington.
