Hiked 700 feet down a steep slope to take a boat tour of the Crater Lake with a park ranger. The lake is 6 miles in diameter and was formed when a volcano imploded the cone of a big mountain. It is the deepest lake in the U.S. and but more famous for its pristine blue color.
